Pruchasing My Photographs

Looks like I am not going to make my Feb. 1st deadline for my Etsy Shop.  I am still working on getting quality samples for standard 2.5x3.5 and 4x6, 5x7, 8x10 matted prints that will be sold on Etsy. Stay tuned!

However, you can purchase through Redbubble, which does an awesome job for my bigger, odd size prints and cards.

Thank you !

New haircut, old earrings!

I recently cut my hair... an extreme haircut!  I donated 8, that's EIGHT, ponytails to Locks of Love.  A friend of mine mentioned that now I have to wear some cute earrings!  Before, my hair covered my earrings and you could not see them.  Also, not a fan of big earrings.  So, in the past I made some earrings, another side craft I did.  When I wore them, my hair always pushed them out of my ears, so I tossed them aside.  Well, I am bringing them out to wear now that my hair is short!  Here are a few pairs I made...

Maine's Winter Beauty

Family and friends always ask me what brought me to Maine because Maine gets a lot of snow.  I vacationed here twice in the summer and then again in the fall.  I never experienced a vacation in Maine during the winter.  It was so beautiful during the summers and falls that I thought that the winters cannot be that bad.  Wow, I was wrong, Maine has a very fulfilling winter.  Not like any winters I had experienced in the midwest.  Maine winters are harsh, cold and long.  However, I have to look at the positives of Maine winters.  Roads are cleared quickly, people are not up tight if you are late due to the weather.  People really come to your aid, let's say if you lose power or you need plowed out.  I thoroughly enjoy the beauty of Maine winters.  When I just cannot seem to shovel for the 4th day in a row, I look around me and see the beauty that has fallen from the sky.  You really cannot appreciate it unless you have experienced it first-hand. Pictures do not do it justice.  I try as much as possible to capture our Maine beauty without having to ever come here and experience it yourself.  Here are some pictures I took today before work.  Photography is my passion and you will see that, I hope, in my pictures.

"Forza" The Samurai Sword Workout

Is your new year resolution to get in shape? Well, I am always trying to find a new workout routine that I will do more than a couple months and one that will keep me interested. I just so was browsing through the tv shows this morning and stumbled upon Martha Stewart... and her exercise show caught my eye today. I taped it, it had unique ways to get fit with S Factor pole dancing, the Forza samurai sword workout, Kangoo jumps, and Physique 57 exercise moves. Well, I've see that pole workout, I don't have a pole or money and room to have one. Kangoo jumps also require very expensive bouncing footwear. However, the Forza samurai sword workout caught my eye. Just because on one of our Wii games, it has a sword fighting game and after that you feel it in your arms! Even though, again, samurai swords are very expensive and extremely dangerous, I could substitute it with a broom handle, which I have plenty of those. Now I will try and come up with a routine and see how long it lasts or I will keep playing the Wii sword game or have Jillian Michaels kick my butt,  however, I end up cussing at her, though, not good for my stress level. Checkout Martha's exercise show, it's very interesting.  MarthaStwart .com 1-19-10 Exercise Show  Now, didn't I tell you I'd be adding ramblings?

Recipe - Spinach Stracciatella Soup with Orzo

Spinach Stracciatella Soup with Orzo

I am making this tomorrow!  I love spinach and I love orzo!

Stracciatella soup is an Italian classic soup I like to make with orzo to make a complete meal. This is perfect served with a good crusty bread or garlic bread. Use a good parmesan cheese like Parmigiano Reggiano for the best results. A simple weeknight meal that takes less than 20 minutes to make.

Servings: 6 • Serving Size: 1 cup • Calories: 126 • Points: 3
6 cups fat free chicken broth
2 large eggs
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
1/4 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley
9 oz baby spinach
4 oz uncooked orzo

Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Bring 5 cups chicken broth to a boil. In a medium bowl, combine remaining cup of cold chicken broth with eggs, cheese and parsley and whisk well. Whisk into boiling pot and cook 3-4 minutes on low. Add orzo and cook according to package directions. When pasta is done, add the baby spinach and mix until it welts. Remove from heat, add salt (if needed) and pepper to taste. Ladle into bowls and top with additional grated cheese.
